Mixed Feelings....

Today is the last day for classses, tomorrow we will start our final exam.. Which means after this and our final exams, we will finish our first semester and next year will be a totally new beginning for all of us, with new lecturers, new subjects and classmates(perhaps but classes and subjects will change)..
We had quite a lot of fun in classes today.. Took photo with lecturers, chat with lecturers. They shared their life experiences with us.. Especially our Biology lecturer,Miss Fikar.. She definitely is the best Biology lecturer I had so far... I seriously love this programme..ICPU, totally different from our former education..

Mixed feelings.. Why did i say that... First of all.. I am happy..because finally first semester is going to end and we are reaching nearer and nearer towards our goal.. However, I felt sad more than joy. You see, Six months had past so fast.. I could still remember the first day I went for classes..the nervous feeling I had when spoke to foreign lecturers for the very first time.. Moreover, six months is a very short period of time. When we finally getting to know each of our classmates a little better, started enjoying every of our lecturer's class, enjoying the process of every assignments...enjoying our presentations...having a closer distance with everyone.. The semester is going to end..and new year is coming... A totally new beginning is waiting ahead for us..

Here, Once again, I wish every ICPU students Good Luck and All the Best in our upcoming exam which is in about 18 hours.. May God bless you all.. =)

I will upload those photos I took with my lecturers as soon as possible... Thank you for your constant support towards my blog... =)

My Feeling Right Now...

Final exam is just around the corner and I still have these assignments waiting to be done. Chemistry project and English CPT, both are major assignments. As ICPU students, we often find time is insufficient for us. Insufficient for us to finish the assignments, have to burn the midnight oil, don't need to mention about revising our subjects, by the time we finish our assignments, exam will be on the next day. No time at all for us to stop and take a deep breath. What I mean here is really a deep deep breath, for us to stop, listen and look. I found out that ICPU students are just charging themselves forward everyday. Maybe it is only me who is slow at picking up new things, maybe others don't need to stop and look, it is only me who need it. Yeah! Only me... Others seems to be fine....
Plus, marks are really an important factor in ICPU. Before you sit for the finals, you gotta have a good enough mark to make sure you will get an average of above 80%. Now, I don't have those marks and I am really worry about that. Biology, far away from what I expected, the others don't believe I got a low mark this time, I am really not a bright student. Chemistry=screw up (No Hope to get above 80% anymore). Advanced Functions-used to be my hope for pulling up my average, but now really have to rely fully on it, and not much chance to increase my average.
Frankly, I don't have confidence at all to face the finals. Everything just happened too fast for me. Too fast.... Now, I still have the mood to write this post, maybe what my friend told me might be true-blogging helps to release stress. haha...

Gotta really work hard from now on... really hard... really hard.. HARD...
Because Canada, Canada, Canada... Biotech...

Don't worry too much about the future, it will come soon enough.. Just do my best in the present.

Think about these..

All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.

An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.

Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

Do not overrate what you have received, nor envy others. He who envies others does not obtain peace of mind.

Hatred does not cease through hatred at any time. Hatred ceases through love. This is the eternal rule.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

I never see what has been done; I only see what remains to be done.

It is better to travel well than to arrive.

The tongue is like a sharp knife...Kills without drawing blood.

Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.

You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.

CHEMISTRY...

Finally... Chemistry last unit test (Organic Chemistry) is over... Now will be the final exam...
Those who are not in ICPU may think that unit test..What is the big deal?! Just a test...
Let me tell you, this programme consists of two part.. One is coursework and the other will be the final exam. COURSEWORK 70% and FINAL 30%! COURSEWORK is damn damn damn important!!! Unit test is one part of it..plus assignmentssss..... If you screw up your unit testS... Then no one can save you! Neither God nor Angels.. When you have a damn bad marks for coursework, then the programme office will tell you :"Man, you will not make it for your final exam, come back next sem.." This is definitely one of ICPU students' nightmares!
In the matter of fact, i have a damn sux mark for my chemistry... Really hope this unit test will be able to save my ass.... Same goes to those who have the same fate as me...Perhaps no one has... My marks are the worst in the entire class.. (sigh....)

International Morse Code

Come... Let's learn Morse Code...

Secret Code..

If you could read what I wrote.. Then, you really are a genius, the master of languages...

You really waste time finding out what i wrote?

hahahahaha.........................

The Time Machine

The Time Machine is a science fiction novel written by Herbert George Wells. Mankinds have been thinking of traveling through time for many years, from the past decades until now, 20th century. Scientists who were motivated by these thoughts had come out with a lot of theories about the relativity of time. One of the most famous and renowned physicist is Albert Einstein. He is best known for his theory of relativity. This book, The Time Machine was first published in year 1895. The term “time machine” used by Wells is now universally used to refer to such a vehicle. Alongside with Frenchman Jules Verne, Herbert George Wells is known as one of the founding fathers of science fiction. Wells’s main target is the often disapproving branch of evolution, Social Darwinism. The Time Machine is a book about a man who traveled into far future in the quest of knowing what happens to the human civilization and how our civilization turns into. The theme of this novel is the fall in evolution of human species in far future. The effect brought by the advancement of science and technology to the fall of mankind in far future.

The Time Traveler whose name is never been given because the narrator wants to protect his identity strongly believes that evolution leads to perfectibility of human species in the future and the civilization will continually advance. The time machine invented by him, was a big stepping stone in human’s history of scientific invention. However, the events that he encounters in the year Eight Hundred and Two Thousand have proven him wrong. In the novel, “For a moment I was staggered, though the import of his gesture was plain enough. The question had come into my mind abruptly: were these creatures fools? You may hardly understand how it took me. You see I had always anticipated that the people of the year Eight Hundred and Two Thousand odd would be incredibly in front of us in knowledge, art, everything. Then one of them suddenly asked me a question that showed him to be on the intellectual level of one of our five year-old children – ask me, in fact, if I had come from the sun in a thunderstorm! It let loose the judgment I had suspended upon their clothes, their frail light limbs and fragile features. A flow of disappointment rushed across my mind. For a moment I felt that I had built the Time Machine in vain (Wells 25)”. This shows that The Time Traveler was frustrated because what he had expected and believed in for so long is proven wrong. He had long believed that human beings will evolve into greater species but everything is the opposite in the future.

Human species does not evolutes to the perfect in far future. Social Darwinism which is very much argued against in this novel stated that those who succeeded in this social environment are destined to do so and to continue in their march to human perfection. This means that human species becomes better in each generation. However, in The Time Machine, The Time Traveler soon discovered that the advancements of civilization have weakened the Eloi, the beautiful species which at first seem to be the perfect inhabitants. From the novel, “I thought of the physical slightness of the people, their lack of intelligence, and those big abundant ruins, and it strengthened my belief in a perfect conquest of Nature. (Wells 32)” The Eloi, without any needs for survival had become lazy, naive and weak, while their civilization seems to be a nice place to live in.

In the future, Man does not remain one species. “But, gradually, the truth dawned on me: that Man had not remained one species. (Wells 46)” The two species are The Elois and The Morlocks. The Eloi lives in the Upperworld and The Morlock lives in the Underground. The hairy Morlock, which are the evil ones, supplied the Eloi, the gentle and kind ones food, water, and clothes. The Morlock hunts and kills the Eloi. This fall in the evolution of mankind is caused by Capitalism. H.G.Wells in this novel shows that Capitalism is dangerous and harmful to the civilization of mankind. It is made connected between the Morlocks representing the late 19th century laborers and the Eloi representing the London aristocracy. Capitalism eventually leads to the fall of human civilization.

The species of mankind in 802701A.D. had descended into savagery. The place where The Time Traveler landed in the future is actually not far from his laboratory because he launched his time machine from his lab. The conditions of mankind in the far future are worse than the conditions of the people in the period of The Time Traveler. The Time Traveler turns into a near primal savage in his fight with the Morlocks to retrieve his time machine. “But as it was, I stood there with only the weapons and the powers that Nature had endowed me with – hands, feet and teeth, and four safety-matches that still remained to me. (Wells 54)” For instance, he found little use from the more advanced displays in the Palace of Green Porcelain, instead at last he chose a simple lever from his time machine as the weapon. Fire, the most primal weapon of mankind, has been used by The Time Traveler as a weapon against the Morlocks although he is in the world of 802701 A.D. where technologies of mankind suppose to be great and powerful. The Time Traveler has to devolve in order to survive in the evolved world. This clearly explains the fall in mankind’s evolution.

Human civilization eventually vanishes in far future. After The Time Traveler escapes from the Morlocks, he travels into a future of 30 million years. He found there is none of any of the mankind species around. At the Time Traveler’s very last stop in the future, he found only one form of life survives, which is a tentacled, hopping “football”.
When The Time Traveler reaches the furthest point in his voyage into the future too he finds that the sun has increased extremely huge in size, turned red and has stopped moving. This signifies that human civilization is completely wiped out and the world returns to its original state. Everything starts again from the very beginning.

H.G.Wells had spotted a hole in the theory of social Darwinism. Human civilization in the far future doesn’t evolve to perfection. “When I had started with the time machine, I had started with the absurd assumption that the men of the Future would certainly be infinitely ahead of ourselves in all their appliances. (Wells 54)” The Time Machine which was invented by The Time Traveler shows advancement in science and technology. However, this advancement will not persist into the far future. Human civilization eventually turns into its primal state. Does all of the science in 19th century end up making the world a better place in 800, 000 A.D.?

Michael Crichton

My favourite author- Michael Crichton. Today, I have finished another book from Michael Crichton: Sphere. It is awesome. The story is about discovering a future spaceship of mankind in the present. You can find this book from Taylor's library. Taylor's library is amazing. They have all the author's recent books, including another favourite author of mine- James Pattereson.

Plus, Michael Crichton's recent book and his last book-Next, was published last year.

Unfortunately, Crichton died of cancer last tuesday, he was 66. A great lost to the world.

My Slam Poem

Finally.. I have presented slam poem today... haha.....In the matter of fact, i wrote the poem in less than half an hour... (Sigh....) Procrastination is the thief of time... I kept on delaying the assignment..therefore I did it at 10:30 a.m. today.. The poem i wrote is quite sux.. Hope u all don't mind...

Friendship-Michael

Friends,
Like the dew in a winter’s morning
Are hard to be found,
Yet easy to lose.

With friends,
We can voyage to the distant land
through the seven seas,
Fly to the moon, the Mars, Venus, and Pluto.
Everything we do,
We may need a friend’s help.
To find a true friend,
Is like looking for water on a desert.
To be a true friend is not easy,
Like the bonding of an ecstasy.

The worst thing you can do
Is to betray a friendship,
like an invisible, sharp dagger,
which stabs from the back.
The excruciating pain is enough
To lose your friendship.

Friends are hard to be found,
Yet easy to lose.
Especially your true friends.
Do be there when they need you,
As a friend in need,
Is a friend indeed
Because you might never know,
When you are in need.

TIME FLIES.........

Final exam is coming soon... very, very soon... In less than two weeks from now... After that, first semester is coming to an end.. Next year will be a whole new year and a completely new beginning with new subjects.... Imagine..Study Biology and Chemistry in 6 months and have to finish everything.. You might said:"Six months is very long.." Well, think it over again! It is very short for us whoo took ICPU.. I still remembered, the first day i came to Taylor's College, I thought we still have a pretty long way to go.. 1 year course.. But now, 4+ months had passed...
At here, I just want to wish everyone Good Luck and All The Best in your final exams.... =)

"I recommend you to take care of the minutes, for the hours will take care of themselves." Lord Chesterfield

Every morning you are handed 24 golden hours. They are one of the few things in this world that you get free of charge. If you had all the money in the world, you couldn't buy an extra hour. What will you do with this priceless treasure?

"I never worry about the future. It comes soon enough."-Albert Einstein

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."-Albert Einstein

"We have to do the best we can. This is our sacred human responsibility."-Albert Einstein

3:20a.m.

3:20 a.m., i keep telling myself to wake up at this time since last two months but i seldom manage to do that. I like the peacefulness of early morning.. Many things can be done... 3:20a.m. is the best time to experience what is meant by tranquil.. This morning, i somehow managed to do that.. But woke up at 3:30.... haha........

My Purpose...

The purpose of me writing a blog is to avoid boredom. To share my thoughts with the people around me...? Perhaps.... Basically, it is to share everything about myself with my friends and family... But not too personal... haha.......

Choice....

Sometimes in our life, we really have no choice in whatever we are doing. I still remember my Additional Mathematics teacher once said, "No choice is a choice." haha..... Maybe this is true afterall, because u chose not to choose. Sounds confusing...But you will understand it later... I have realised the true meaning of this verse.

Everyone lives with a dream... Maybe someone has two or more.. but everyone do live with dreams and ambitions... Therefore, hold on to your dreams and someday, perhaps it will come true. haha........ Don't just dream but do something to make your dreams come true. Then, pray hard and hope for the best.

Appreciate everyone and everything around us is important too because they may not last long or perhaps they will but you would never know when they will be gone and one day, you will regret for not appreciating them.. For instance, friendship... To be a friend is very hard; to be a best friend is even harder.. & the hardest is to understand someone in depth...

hahahaha....... i am actually just crapping in this post. If you found it is true enough, then just let me know in the comment box... hahahahaha............

Brothers..

My Advanced Function class is cancelled again.. haha... therefore, i have some time to update my blog.. I am going to introduce my brothers to you all today.. There are seven of us but i only have this photo to show you(there are only three of them).. haha..... Never mind, i will try to edit it later..

Those that were in the photo are (from the left): Tj, Kenny and Joshua.. Those that were not in this photo are: Daniel, Chin Yap and Kennard. Seven of us have been friends for five years.. Not too long but sufficient for us to know each other greatly... Especially That one smiling happily, we have been friends for 10 years until now.. He is my best buddy but he is in Moscow... Quite hard to keep in touch with him due to time differences.. haha.....

We knew each other since the first day in Form One (except me and Kenny), when we joined the Uniform Body-Red Crescent ( You can see that from the uniform they were wearing). We had gone through many hardships and had very great experience in Victoria Institution Red Crescent Society(VIRCS).. Only them will know what i am saying here... haha...... Things that made us knew the true meaning of Unity.. I must admit that VIRCS is the second best society in school. haha......

Let me start my story with Kenny, He was a brilliant student since primary school up till secondary school, always in the top two position, got 7A's in UPSR, 7A's in PMR and 10 A1's in SPM. He is currently doing Medicine in Moscow, Russia. Kenny is a very talkative person, the entire school knew that, even all the teachers and maybe the principal knew that too. hahaha...... You could hear his voice from a far distance.. Great voice projection, good for presentation... haha... High pitch=high energy=travel far... He plays badminton very well.. and a very suitable person to share your thoughts with because he has very wide knowledge, from science to computer games. However, he has bad temper, got angry easily.. haha...... You must change this, Kenny.. Then you will be a perfect guy.

Next will be Tj. Tj likes to play piano. In his life, only piano and studies. He got JPA scholarships to study Medicine.. Currently in INTEC, Shah Alam so we still keep in touch. haha..... His motto, study hard, play hard. You see.. He is talented in playing piano.. but you seldom see him smile, cool... Daniel and me call him kayu.. hahaha.... He is very good in studies too.. You would always see him and Kenny studying.. Both of them were top scholar back in my school. In fact, he got 14 A's in SPM... 13 A1's and 1 A2.. Excellent results.. Keep it up, Tj.

Then, it is Daniel's turn. Daniel and I were classmates in Form Two and Form Five. You would see us walking down the corridors together because we were classmates for two years. Dan is a very creative person. He has great creative thinking which i obviously don't have..hahaha.... Everytime we had a project, he would definitely came out with fantastic ideas.. Due to this, he is doing architecture now, going on the right track, bro.. haha.... He loves music too. Same like Tj.. Two of them always find time playing piano together... Even now, they still keep up the tradition.. haha.....

NExt is Joshua.. Joshua has great leadership skill. In fact, he was the president for VIRCS year 2006/07. He was very active in co-curricular activities. However, he juggled both academic and co-curricular activities very well. He got excellent results in SPM too.. straight A's.. We really respect him.. Josh is currently taking Form 6 and want to do psychology in the future... All the best, Joshua!

Kennard, our vice-president for VIRCS.. A great water polo player. He won so many medals in water polo tournaments that he could use them as decorations in his room... Kennard is a playful person.. Never been serious... Saw him near Taylor's the other day.. Still the same old Kennard. Every junior was afraid of him back at that time.. He likes to play practical jokes on them.. Kennard is currently doing ADP and going to do environmental science in United States of America... He will definitely love the environment.. I hope... hahahaha......

Last will be Chin Yap.. He moved to MRSM after Form 4, only spent a few months in Form 5 at our school. Chin is a funny guy, always bring laughter to the people around him.. Great in acting.. You should see him acted as a woman in our annual gathering sketch.... He got excellent results in SPM too and currently doing local matriculation . He wants to be a doctor. Therefore, among my brothers, there will be 3 future doctors-Kenny, Tj and him... Great!!! =)

When i was typing this post, great memories swam into my minds. Hope that all my brothers are doing fine and well. Good luck and all the best for what you guys are doing now and in the future.

Favourite Rock Band...

My favourite rock band... Linkin Park!!!! I like all their songs... Great especially when u r feeling depressed or stress... haha...... I am not kidding... U can try if u want to know how exactly i am feeling when i listen to their songs... But most people don't like heavy rock, Linkin Park is not heavy rock band, they are alternate rock... More "civilized"... hahaha.........

Scorpio...

My Zodiac Sign.... Scorpio... haha......
I don't quite believe all these things... But sometimes, there are quite true...(partially)
For certain things, we can't deny their truth when we don't see the immediate result....

Poetry..............

Doing International Canadian Pre-University really boost my interest in English language.

We already had our drama presentation for one of Shakespeare's plays- Macbeth. My team members and me really had a wonderful time practising and rehearsing for this drama. Then, we had our soundtrack assignment which was to create a soundtrack album for Macbeth. hahahahaha....... We didn't have all these during our days in secondary school. These were new experience..

Now, we have our slam poetry assignment. We have to create and perform a slam poem on any topic. If you have no clue of what is slam poetry, then go to youtube and watch it for yourself. hahahahaha...... I will not be able to perform like those people in the video.. But i will try my best and fortunately our lecturer said we don't have to perform exactly like them, 60% similar is o.k.......... (o.k.= 0 killed).

Dangerous...

Let me list down my assignments that are needed to be done within this week:

1. English 3U: a) Slam Poetry Assignment.... (Create and perform a slam poetry.....

blah..blah...blah...)

b) Cumulative Performance Task: Final Essay and presentation.

2. Biology: Essays... 5 essays.. (Completed only 3) Will be more as the days go by...
3. Chemistry: a) Lab reports (Fermentation, Polymerization)

b) Presentation

Final exam is just around the corner, 28th November and i haven't start studying anything yet.

Yet still so many assignments queueing up for me to finish them off...

I strongly believe that i will not be able to finish all of them but i will work very hard for my finals...

May God bless me from this time forth and forever more...

Greatest Periodic Table

Found this periodic table... Hahahaha......... A nice decoration for the blog...

DNA=Deoxyribonucleic Acid

Genetic Engineering... I really like this chapter.. Now i realised perhaps my interest is into genetics...

Class cancelled

Today's Advanced Function class had been cancelled again...

2 days without Advance Function class really make me feel unhappy because Mathematics is always my favourite subject. hahahahaha.......... Of course Biology too.. and don't forget Physics... I have less affection towards Chemistry but i do like the organic chemistry part. All the structural formula for the compounds are really cool... Chiral carbon.. haha.... Finding chiral carbon is fun...
By the way, learning the physical and chemical properties of those compounds makes me feel that, sometimes, non-living things have some commons with human beings too... Chemical compounds work with other compounds to achieve stability... Humans are like that too... Working with others in order to secure their position, especially in the corporate world..

I think most of Mr. Andrew's period 5 and 6 chemistry class students will remember this. hahahaha...... There are 2 chiral carbons in this compound... Are you able to locate it?

Michael Learns to Rock

I am starting my blog with my favourite band, Michael Learns To Rock or best known as MLTR.

MLTR is a Danish soft rock band that performs songs in English. My favourite songs from this band are "Paint My Love" and " Take Me To Your Heart". These two songs are really nice. Strongly recommend these two songs to all my friends who like lively but not too heavy song. =)

First Day @ Blog

Hi! I am Michael. This is the first time i am writing a blog and i am completely blank now...
However, i will update my blog and introduce interesting post.... Please forgive me if there are any grammar and spelling mistakes in my blog.
